U.S. Figure Skating (USFS) is the national sport governing body for figure skating in the United States. U.S. Figure Skating is as an association of approximately 600 clubs and over 196,000 individuals. The association is divided into nine regions within three sections: Eastern, Midwestern, and Pacific Coast. The Red River Valley FSC is part of the Upper Great Lakes Region and is part of the Midwestern Section.

USFS Rulebooks are now available from the association's website. The versions at the USFS site are the most current versions and reflect all known corrections to the edited date.

Fargo's winter skating program information is available from the Fargo Parks District at their Youth Programs Ice Skating page. USFS Basic Skills winter program information for Moorhead is available from Moorhead Parks and Recreation at their Programs page., a subsidiary of US Figure Skating, is the source for the latest news and information from the figure skating world. Included on the site are news, competition results, photos, videos, skater biographies, and special features. Most of the photos and articles on the website may be viewed without a subscription fee.

Red River Valley FSC coaches are members of the Professional Skaters Association.
